Buying the new Tesla Model Y 2026 Juniper refresh? Here’s everything you need to know — what’s new, trade-in tips, features, and a pickup checklist.
🛻 Meet My New Tesla: 2026 Model Y Juniper Refresh
I did the thing. After years with my trusty 2018 Model S, I finally made the leap — and now I’m behind the wheel of a Tesla Model Y 2026 Juniper Refresh.

Even better? I got to pick it up right after touring the Gigafactory where it was made. (Because picking up your Tesla at the factory feels like choosing your lightsaber from the Jedi Temple.)
🔁 Trade-In & FSD Transfer: Worth It?
- Traded in my 2018 Model S
- Successfully transferred Full Self-Driving (FSD) — currently valued at ~$8,000
- Went with a demo model that was in stock and already had every option I wanted
🎨 Specs & Options
Here’s how I specced my dream ride:
- Long Range
- Dual Motor
- Quicksilver Exterior (aka low-key futuristic)
- White Interior (crisp, clean, and bright)
- Tow Hitch (yes, I’m ready for adventures)
Despite being a demo unit, it still has that new car smell.

It’s always best to report any issues before you leave the delivery center — once you drive off, you typically have only 100 miles or 24 hours (whichever comes first) to report additional concerns through the Tesla app.
💵 Tax Credit Talk
📢 Heads up for US buyers: EV tax credits are evolving quickly. If you want to save up to $7,500, timing matters.
- Federal tax credits may shift depending on income limits and car specs
- State incentives can stack — don’t forget to check your local programs
- You can apply credits at purchase with select dealers
I jumped on the window just in time — and saved a bundle.
🎁 Bonus: Tesla Referral Perks
If you’re thinking of ordering your own Model Y (or any Tesla), don’t forget to use a referral link. It gets you perks — sometimes free Supercharging, discounts, or credits toward accessories.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to invent a completely essential errand — purely for research purposes, of course.
